Frequently Asked Questions

Will I lose control during hypnosis?

No. Hypnosis is a collaborative process. You remain aware, in control, and able to speak or stop the session at any time.

Most people simply experience a deeply relaxed state of focused awareness while listening to the guidance.

What if I can’t be hypnotised?

Almost everyone can experience hypnosis. It is a natural mental state that we enter regularly — such as when we are deeply absorbed in a film, book or daydream.

The key ingredient is simply a willingness to relax and follow the guidance.

What if I feel nervous before the session

It is completely normal to feel a little unsure before your first hypnosis session. Many people feel curious but slightly nervous simply because the experience is new.

The session begins with a relaxed conversation where you can ask any questions and take your time to feel comfortable. Everything moves at a pace that feels right for you.

How many sessions are needed?

Some people experience meaningful change after a single session, while others benefit from a small series of sessions.

This depends on the nature of the issue and how deeply the pattern is rooted.

If further sessions would be helpful, we can discuss this together, but there is never any pressure to book more than you feel comfortable with.

Are sessions held online?

Yes. Indigo Moon sessions take place remotely via Zoom, allowing you to join from anywhere in the world from the comfort of your own home.

All sessions are guided in clear English.

How should I prepare for my session?

Choose a quiet space where you will not be disturbed for the duration of the session.

You may wish to sit comfortably in a chair or lie on a bed or sofa. Headphones are recommended so you can hear the guidance clearly.

How long is a session?

Indigo Moon sessions usually last between 60 minutes to 2 ½ hours, allowing plenty of time for conversation, hypnosis, and reflection afterwards.

Do I receive a recording of the session?

Yes. A recording of your hypnosis session is provided as standard so you can listen again afterwards if you wish.

Many people find that revisiting the recording helps reinforce the work we have done together.

What happens after the session?

After the hypnosis ends, we spend a few minutes talking about the experience.

Over the following days, it can be helpful to drink plenty of water and allow yourself some quiet time to reflect. Journalling can also be a gentle way to notice any thoughts or insights that arise.

Are in-person sessions available?

In-person sessions may be available on request.

Is hypnotherapy a replacement for medical or psychological treatment?

No. Hypnotherapy is a complementary approach that can support wellbeing and personal change, but it is not a substitute for medical or psychological care.

If you are currently under the care of a doctor or mental health professional, hypnotherapy can often work alongside that support.

If you have any medical concerns, you should always consult your GP or healthcare provider.
